So basically…

My skin hates me.

With gift card in hand I made my way to Dillard’s and the Clinique counter today and asked for some serious HELP!

I’ve never really used Clinique products before, so here’s hoping this is actually going to work.

I’m starting today with their Acne Solutions system as well as a pore refining serum. I also picked up Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar Oil-Free Moisturizer for night treatment since salicylic acid tends to dry me out.

I’ll check back in with you in a month (or 6 weeks, maybe) on the skin care front to give you an update…which will hopefully be positive!

Totally Awesome 80′s!

Now, I don’t know about you guys…but I am defintely an 80′s kid.
I mean that in the sense that I was born in 1985…but let’s do the math here.
Born in ’85 means I wasn’t even at a coherent critical thinking age until maybe ’88 and by that time I’d missed all the best stuff (Dirty Dancing, Sixteen Candles, Jem and some of the best days of Cyndi Lauper’s hair) so I think I’m allowed to dress up as a “Totally Awesome 80′s Pop Star” right?

By the time I was in school it was 1990 so I never got to wear the petticoats over my stirrup pants, and though I did sport the multiple socks and jean jacket decked out in buttons (i had every NKOTB button ever made! and the sleeping bag) I still missed out on the Madonna era and the neon lace gloves. Well not anymore! This is why I love Halloween. Be WHATEVER you want to be, and if your like me and on a budget kick it off with some fun day glo 1980′s garb!

So what does this makeup entail?

First off…

Day-glo colors! heck yes. It is all about the bright green and neon yellows

sublime by Calypso minerals on rest of lid
envious by Calypso on crease
neon green by Calypso on inner corner
blacktrack fluidline from Mac to line lids

Azalea blush from Mac

HIP gloss (I forget the name, but it’s the only magenta pink)

I’m going to be decked out in black leggings, 3 pairs of various neon socks, black chuck taylors, my faded jean jacket, a leopard print tank, black chain & cross necklace, neon fingerless lace gloves, matching lace headband AND a green & yellow tutu!!
